his course examines issues related to labor trafficking investigations.
In this course, you will study the many different factors that create opportunity for vulnerability to labor trafficking and exploitation, you will examine the weaknesses in the temporary worker visa program, and explore the differences between human trafficking and human smuggling. Additionally, you will examine the various challenges faced by investigators and prosecutors in labor trafficking cases.
Your final project will require you to investigate and research a labor-trafficking-related issue that requires a solution. You will prepare a white paper in which you will discuss this issue and some possible solution. For your final paper, you will conduct further research into your issue and solution, provide analysis of your recommendations and present your result.
Labor trafficking is one of the most challenging cases to investigate as you will see in this course, but understanding the various components that create vulnerability, the laws, and challenges, investigators case more easily navigate these cases. The course begins on 8/26/24 and ends on 10/14/24.
